HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2014 Already?

Just a brief note from my insane world....
Going to be back to blogging. I hope.
Just a warning.
And a reminder to self.
Lots to do this year as always.
More thoughtful thoughts later.
WARNING WILL ROBINSON! :)

08 November 2012

Wow... it's still here...

So, this week has been rather a "Debbie Downer" kind of week...
So, being Thursday, it's starting to feel a bit better...
Why? Because I realized my blog spot is still here! YAY!
OMGoodness... I think I might find myself doing this again.
Life in hell the next four years... has to have something to laugh at... perhaps the idiots who called people like me paranoid? Who knows... hell, this might not last when freedom of speech goes byebye.

Later :) I will be back now I figured out how to get back to this page!

One wonderful thought for the coming weekend....
Basketball season starts this weekend!
OU!? OH YEAH! Go BOBCATS!

Racism?

Calling someone a liar is now equal to racism? If I remember correctly, the majority of people who voted (Legally or otherwise) voted in a 1/2 black and 1/2 white guy last November. Maybe I missed something?

What Joe Wilson said was truth. I'm going to contribute to his reelection campaign. I think if you support him, you should too! I mean if my own congressman can take money from groups in CA or WA, why can't the SC rep who spoke up in Congress, get my money?

Maybe we need a little less "protocol" and butt-kissing in our government? It's actually quite VERY amusing to watch British parliament hoot and holler and boo on their floor.

Get off the PC bandwagon and let this go. Whatever color the president, isn't it BHOs party who said dissent is PATRIOTIC? Now it's not? HYPOCRITES!!! EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!

Interesting reading...

Mis-information? Send a link for BOs own site and claim to be informed. ACK!
Found this while searching just what SEIU was. http://www.webcommentary.com/php/ShowArticle.php?id=gaynorm&date=090810 Interesting read.
Another bit... http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/zieve/090806
I've found so many things lately to read. I don't think I can go back to work with all the information out there LOL
I'm thinking I must be crazy not liking BO and willing to sacrafice my children's future earnings to make him "popular" and everyone to like him. ACKKKKKKKKKKKKK!

A Novel Concept for the President to Ponder

From Minnesota's governor... if we're out of money, QUIT SPENDING!
Folks... if WE can't spend beyond the credit limit on our credit card without trouble, why should our country do it? Oh, I know... the famous adage of our parents, that many of us still follow... DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO. Isn't Washington always doing that for us? HYPOCRITES!

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/06/28/quit-spending-pawlenty-tells-obama/

I had to go search this on the CNN page. I was reading their website since it's DHs homepage... I prefer FOX, surprise! Anyways... it disappeared off the front page after the laptop gave me trouble. Nice way to cover things up, eh CNN? Freedom of press? Freedom from truth is more like it!

Thanks MJ

Well, this country is screwed up. What on earth is the news thinking in going 24 hours of MJ? Did Korea's boat that is being shadowed by the USS John McCain, disappear or go home? Did the Iranian government give up and let the rallies continue? Or say President Tom lost?

Michael Jackson is an icon from my childhood. I understand he died. I understand our press is INCREDIBLY STUPID and did nothing but let the TV show the king of strangeness videos and comments ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT.

Oh, and the most important thing that went away from the news thanks to MJ is this... HR 2454 was pushed under the rug by the federal press, I mean, the free media. Talk about great timing for Obama and his House soldiers! OMG! How great! MJ dies and they get a free ride on the cap and tax program. Pelosi continues to be a liar! What did she do? She has said the people will get 24 hours to read bills before voting. LIE! At 309am Friday morning, a 300-page amendment was added to HR 2454. Fortunately, Boehner got up and read it all into the House record. If not for him, many people might have missed it. SAD! Less than 24 hours later, around 8pm eastern, there was a vote. 8 Republicans voted for the bill and it narrowly passed. (218 needed, I believe they got 219) People have to wake up! THe media is the lap dog for Obama.

Now, the work is still not done! The Senate next takes this up sometime. I will have to see if the bill has been scheduled or not. No matter a date, start now. Start calling and telling your Senator NO on the cap and tax bill. This is insane. If the Senate comes through for the King and his lady of the House, we will no longer need state or local governments for building codes. We'll be all living with the standards set in California for building... add 30% to your housing cost in addition to the fuel/energy costs. Federal gas tax would go up. Companies will have to retrofit for the new emission standards. Who do you think will pay this insanity? ME! YOU! YOUR KIDS!

America as many of us remember, or have been told, is coming to an end, but can be changed still. Call your Senators! Write your Senators. Break the phone system like I helped do on Friday calling the House switchboard to say NO. David comes in our room Saturday morning to say I'd made the national news. "You and all those calls about the tax bill crashed the switchboard." And look at the bums... it still made no difference that people called.

So Obama and his court of fools can thank Michael for his untimely, timely death on Thursday. MJs demise was great news to the liberal crowd in control of our country. May MJ rest in peace. May the country survive the next 3.5 years without being under communist rule.

Quote for Today

Good morning everyone! May your day be blessed and warm. It's thawing here, ever so slightly. We met several of the oldest's teachers last night and came away with one recurring theme, "He's a great kid, just lazy." Apparently he's quite able, as I knew, but just doesn't do what he should or does it halfarsed and get mediocre grades. So today's quote is something for him and us all to think about....

"Think it more satisfactory to live richly than die rich." – Sir Thomas Browne

As David keeps telling the young man, "You can be the smartest man digging ditches." I hope he's more than a ditch digger, but if that's it, then by God, be the best!!!!

And this surprises... who?

From Foxnews.com, well Harris Polling.... http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/02/21/poll-obama-popular-jesus-gandhi-king/

A quote from another article this morning talking about the week ahead in DC... God help us.
"Facing such eye-popping deficit numbers and the massive federal spending already gushing from the stimulus and bailout bills, people may need to catch their breath and survey Obama's plans with a cooler, calmer gaze." - If people in the administration don't like the spending being done in our recently passed and signed PORK SPENDING BILL aka Stimulus Package, why did they let that go on and be passed without ANY Debate or any actual member of Congress READING THE BILL?!?!!?

FOLKS! Do you know how many of our illustrious Congressmen READ the ENTIRE BILL before it was passed? NONE. ZIP! ZERO! NADA! 1000+ pages of spending my grandchildren and maybe great-grandchildren's "future" into oblivion and no one took the time to read it in its entireity, or a little of it, before just blindly bleating in line to vote? ACK!

Personal Responsibility

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,497707,00.html
Are you mad that not only do your tax dollars pay for people not working, or trying, but now we're going to let people who shouldn't have bought the biggest house they could by a loan, but can't afford now to pay for? Those honest folks out there who are paying their bills, now have to foot the bill for the schmuck down his street costing him housing value. Does anyone have any responsibility for themselves these days?!?! I don't get it. We have no debt except for the two cars and the monthly credit card statement. We're RESPONSIBLE. Did we quit teaching our children about being good, upstanding citizens? About DEMOCRACY? About the evils of SOCIALISM and COMMUNISM?

Yesterday I saw that there is now talk of nationalizing our banks, if only temporarily. Let's think on this just a moment. Anything the government throw money at tends to not improve. Anything we start funding, usually has no end in sight. (ie Social Security, Welfare, the telephone tax paid to finance the Spanish-American War back in the late 1800s and wasn't repealed until 2000-something I believe if not the 1990s) We TRUST these people to temporarily take control of banks?

Ever hear the term NANNY STATE? We're quickly approaching socialism where Uncle Sam will be going broke to provide for the nation's food, health, housing and so on. Isn't that just a grand thought? Are there that many stupid people who don't have an ability to flip a burger at McDonald's on a regular basis to get a paycheck? It's not glamorous, it's not a great job for a college grad, but if one has a family that needs fed, one must find a job, no matter what it is.

I was talking to someone at work the other day about the amazing, super, absolutely won't do much for really anyone, $400 tax credit (or the $250 one time payment to Social Security recipients or veterans). What do they think that $14 will do for the average family every two weeks? It won't make a difference in my life. I was put under the bus kind of by someone who says "Maybe not to you but that's formula for a family." I'm not immune to families who struggle... I'm a military spouse... I've seen my share. I have a family member of my own supporting a family of 5 on a self-employed income. Do you think that $14 every two weeks, if he could get it, would really do much for him? For a family of 5, it's almost 1 meal at McDonald's for the whole family. WOOO HOOOO! Run and spend that extra $14 every two weeks and stimulate the economy. OH YEAH!

I can't find the article I saw last night and didn't have time to share. BUT, the gist of the headline is that MOST people want a nanny state where the federal government takes care of them. Ever been to eastern Europe? Even western Europe? Lovely apartment buildings, (actually I think it is) good public transportation, socialized medicine (and having spoken to a few people about English and German health care, our system may suck, but it's still better). I don't want the government taking care of me in all aspects of life. I do try to be RESPONSIBLE. Where did we go wrong as a country in thinking 1984 was a good idea? If you don't know what 1984 is, I suggest a trip to the library and some time to read it. George Orwell in general is a pretty good read. Animal Farm, too. I think I'm going to go to the library today now I think about it.

May your Saturday be super! And full of personal responsibility. Go stimulate the economy! Spend that $14 we'll soon have every two weeks. God bless America! (The USSR may have died a slow, painful death, but the USSA is on the rise LOL)

CEOs Lambasted for Privy Planes: Why Not a Senator?

From cnn.com
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/13/brown.stimulus.vote.flight/

I wrote him last weekend to not vote for this package as Ohio is my home state. So to get the almighty 60 votes, since they couldn't get mainstream Republicans to vote for it, we got to pay for Senator Brown to fly from Ohio to DC just to vote on this pork bill. Nice, isn't it, that we're footing a bill of about $3000/hour to jet him to DC. So, while they roasted the CEOs of Detroit (and I agreed with it), they fly ONE senator back to DC for a vote. Where is the outrage? HYPOCRITES! Every last one of them.

GS employees are not actually salaried. I always thought they were. They fill out hourly time sheets every two weeks to get paid. PERHAPS, we should make Representatives and Senators (and Presidents too) GS employees, accountable for every minute they work? So, that said, we've just passed spending for the next three or so years... send them back to their states until August when we'll be in the midst of yearly budget woes, to work real jobs. They're just going to rubber stamp the president's budget when it comes in anyways. They don't need more than a few DAYS (weeks) debate to do that. They certainly have no more money to spend. Heck, we don't have the funds for the insane bill that just passed yesterday.

Just food for thought.

Welcome Socialism

HACK! COUGH! SPEW! HACK! COUGH!

Our superior, know more than everyone else, Congress tonight passed the Pork Bill, I mean stimulus package.
The House didn't complete its PRINTING of the bill until overnight. Where was the chance to read or at least glance through it?!?!?! Oh God! Ain't bipartisanship supposed to be flourishing?
So, did you notice some of the things counting as "stimulus"? Of course not! Giving money to organizations like ACORN, that helped President Obama win, is stimulating? Please explain. Oh the big ones I noticed this morning? A ONE TIME payment of $250 to Social Security recipients. WOW! $250? ONCE? Going to get the economy started on THAT?!?!?! Our country is hurting now... it's only going to get worse from here on out. WAKE UP FOLKS! The left won and continues to let us know about it.
The president talks about responsibility, YET, the government says, "Here is your ration of health care (or food or tax rebate to those who don't even pay in). We'll appreciate and expect your vote in 2010 and 2012 to keep us LIBERALS in business." Nothing like buying a vote. Oh wait! Isn't Chicago where one votes early and often? And now we get that type of attitude all over the leadership?
Well, I won't say I'll read 1000+ pages of the "stimulus" bill, soon to be unfortunately, law, BUT I hope some reputable news source has it available. I want to check things out. We're screwed folks. In short, kiss the good things about our country prior to November 2008, goodbye. Capitalism is gone. Our dependency upon the LIBERALS for all our lives, that's here. Lucky UNLUCKY us.

A Lighter Side of Things

I listen to a podcast on my iPod as often as they update it, called "Stuck in the 80s." It's part of the Tampa-St Pete paper blogs and it rocks. Seriously! Sometimes I get some thoughts about things to write here. Indirectly, the Stuck crew and my son had me thinking today.

My baby (he's going on 7 next month) is reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid. See B&N page http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Diary-of-a-Wimpy-Kid/Jeff-Kinney/e/9780810993136 to see what has my child smiling, laughing and reading it aloud. He's becoming his big brother with the nose in a book everywhere he goes. The teachers at school tonight said that it's always with him. :) At least he's reading!

Anyways, last night when he's settling in for the night, lights out, radio playing... I hear him talking from my living room. I wander back to his room to see what was up. I ask Little Man "What are you talking about?" "Dodgeball. You're a target and you can't get hit and you have to move." I don't know what goes on in his brain but it was constantly going from 630am yesterday to the time he tried to go to bed.

This leads me to the question this evening... think back to those horrendous middle school years... bad hair, cheesy makeup, even cheesier clothes (can you say parachute pants?)... what is your worst memory and your best memory?

I think about PE and shudder to think about how geeky I was. Picked last (even in elementary school because I couldn't kick in kickball that well) for dodgeball. Easy prey for the more athletic kids in the group. :D Rejection of the guy you asked to dance at the Junior High Spring Dance. (that still hurts today LOL)

Just something to think about and be thankful for this month as we give thanks for all we're given! I survived middle school, and turned out relatively ok! There is hope for the boys. :)

Can You Please Explain...

Change we can believe in... WTH does it mean?

I see Maddie Albright and Warren Christopher are part of BHusseinO's "transition team." (after my ramble, I saw an article about Christopher that puts it in doubt but Headline News this morning says NO LESS THAN SIX Clinton folks are part of the "change we can believe in" transition tour - PLEASE EXPLAIN!?!!!!!!!)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are we reliving the 90s? Did Hillary get elected after all? I mean this is a repeat of people who were there before and certainly not "change 'I' can believe in." I didn't care for the admin (and I DO realize this is just transition) who had those two yahoos in it the first time.... bringing back the dead just amazes me. Well, maybe not... BHO is our messiah, right?

As to other changes... it's back to the old new deal... take from those who work hard for it to give to those who don't. Hmmmmmmmmm...

And, if you don't get this on your national / local news wherever you call home... Minot (and really the state of ND) is a bubble. Housing costs are exploding here along with values. Do these people realize there is a falling economy? Or that they'll be the second page stories in 5-10 years because they were given home loans they couldn't afford NOW?

Election Burnout and Socialism

Ok... I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new job. I'm burning out on the TV coverage of the "election." I say #1 it's a paid for presidency if Hussein wins and #2 I am ever so thankful I matured and grew up and didn't go into journalism. I can't watch my soaps during work so it's a little limited in my watching ;D Seriously though, the news is a bit much with election and market coverage. I want some days to be like NoDaks and bury my head in the northern prairie ground and say it'll all be fine, "We're drilling baby drilling!"

My next complaint is that our children and any who took government after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the USSR. (for you youngsters who are saying huh? USSR is what Russia used to be a part of and with Putin in charge, one wonders if he doesn't want it back. The Berlin Wall was a symbol and reality of the communism of Europe)

What do I mean by condemning those post-Wall generations? I was scared of nukes long ago growing up. (still but that's another issue) The Commies were the worst! Socialism isn't how we wanted to live. Move forward just 20 years and look how far BACKWARD we have come from the mentality of socialism being not so good. It's now what BHusseinO wants for each and every one of us freedom loving Americans to live with.

What? You're shocked or lost? Didn't have a good government teacher or class in high school or college? Gee I'm so surprised. SERIOUSLY Folks! Remember my talking about Germany and it's 19%... they STLL pay a premium for health care. "Spread the wealth"?? BHO is doing nothing but shouting from his pedastool that he's going to invoke socialism on each and everyone of us. What happened to coming to this country and working hard to succeed? Instead we're going to have to give to people who won't get off their arse to make an honest living? When it's spoken from the pedastool, all seem to be in awe and not willing to do a little work. Let me get some definitions of SOCIALISM. Maybe you can learn something from Joe the Plumber and me?

Oh while on the education (or lack of) rant... We are NOT part of a democracy. While all votes do count, they don't directly count. Democracy would give us all a vote that goes in one pot to the president. Instead it's in a state pot that then is thrown in to the national pot of the 535 voters who cast their votes in December.

From BrainyQuote.com's site: Socialism is a theory or system of social reform which contemplates a complete reconstruction of society, with a more just and equitable distribution of property and labor. In popular usage, the term is often employed to indicate any lawless, revolutionary social scheme. See Communism, Fourierism, Saint-Simonianism, forms of socialism.

1. A theory or policy of social organization which aims at or advocates the ownership and control of the means of production, capital, land, property, etc., by the community as a whole, and their administration or distribution in the interests of all.
2. A state of society in which things are held or used in common.

Interesting article for reading: http://www.conservative-resources.com/definition-of-socialism.html Actually lots of good points.

While searching for a good definition other than "spreading the wealth", giving to those who won't do more, and so on, I found something I hadn't thought about before. Maybe homeschooling is a better choice? Schools are a socialist experience. Everyone being taught the same thing to get the same outcome, Good grades. If Little Man didn't have the issues he had, I may be back on the homeschooling bandwagon for myself. As I keep telling people with the schools, and this is where the socialism part should have slapped me upside the head.... Teachers have to teach to the Lowest Common Denominator. Thus, have the kid with 99 IQ and the kid with the 190 IQ in the classroom, 199 is BORED OUT OF HIS GOURD so that everyone can learn at the 99 level.

I had more gathered thoughts to share but have lost all hope at this point in my ramblings. I'm disgusted by all the election "coverage" out there. Saw a political cartoon the other day... Poor Joe The Plumber had been run over with tire tracks on him. A tank with MEDIA on the side and an BHusseinO sticker on the back had run him down. The bubble said "So that's what it means to be in the tank." Made me laugh, yet want to scream at the idiots who claim to be "non-partisan." Ever watch Hardball or Maher this year? I don't suggest being a conservative going on there due to life expectancy rates dropping badly. They eat up and chew the conservatives!

Have a super Sunday... maybe I'll be out here posting more. :) It's going to be a bumpy road!

Quote for Today

It comes from Dickens... If only I'd seen it sooner, I could be screaming it louder! :)

"Ride on! Rough-shod if need be, smooth-shod if that will do, but ride on! Ride on over all obstacles, and win the race!" – Charles Dickens

25 September 2008

Quote of the Day

"Luck? I don't know anything about luck. I've never banked on it and I'm afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: hard work — and realizing what is opportunity and what isn't." – Lucille Ball

I am alive, maybe not so well, but I am breathing and on the correct side of the daisies. :D

Work has started like gangbusters and I'm fitting in just fine, or so they say. It's a great group of folks to work with. Great boss. And I'm just around the corner for incidents at school or youth center for the wee one. He's having a good start too! I'm so amazed and keep waiting for something to happen, but the transition for mom back to work seems to be ok so far. :)

Hope your fall is super! Matthew and I made a scarecrow at our base "fall fest" last weekend and he's cute. Maybe I'll remember to take his picture this weekend to share here!

Funny DNC Moment and Other Assorted Rambles

We were watching a few moments of the DNC last night... not intently because I keep hoping HRCs supporters take over and cause a problem... but just to see what we'd missed with BHusseinO's wife speaking. Unfortunately she hadn't yet.

Anyways.... it's just before 9 when we were flipping channels and the cuckoo clock rang 9... who was on my TV screen at that exact moment on one of the channels in a replay of its performance earlier?? EDWARD KENNEDY! David with his dry humor says, "How appropriate."

I am so freaking tired of the love fest for BHO. I heard a poll yesterday speaking of our country being split this way: 60% conservative and 36% liberal. Yet, why on earth do I have to hear the sound of lip smacking backside from the media? I'm disgusted as a former wanna be journalist. Something you learn (or used to anyway) in journalism school is that one must be OBJECTIVE and report BOTH SIDES. CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and all of their casts of characters, do NOT show objectiveness, but a love of all things costly. Something to think about... how's BHO going to pay for his grand schemes? On our backs.

Something else I heard yesterday... the conservative Italian got booted a couple of years ago due to discontent with the economy. Well, new guy came in and raised taxes and the economy has continued on the bad trend. Guess what?!?!!? Yep, the right winger is back in power. There are some advantages to having a parliamentary system... like not having to wait 4 years or 8 to get rid of the bastards.

Just some food for thought as you get to your day.

23 August 2008

I have a....

well, according to MLKJr, it was a dream... according to me and the headache of election coverage, I have a HEADACHE.

I'm amazed to think Hillary had thought she would get a chance at the White House with BHusseinO. She screwed it up the first time she was president... I mean VP... Oh heck, I mean the first leech.

Now, BHusseinO thinks he has the corner on running a campaign. I will admit, I've been amused by the attempt to lay low and pull one over on the media with the not so secret secret of Joe Biden being picked for VP. Playing it this way ensures a week or so of nothing but a Democrat love fest at the convention and on TV with the media going "Oh BHussein... come talk to me. I will be nice to you and not throw hard questions like 'how the heck do you plan to fund national health care other than taxing us all to the grave and beyond'." I'm sick just thinking of it now. I wish my work had started this week, not next, so I don't become a convention junkie. The one I'd be more interested in isn't this week. And those hard questions the liberal media won't ask BHusseinO, where do you think they'll get asked instead?

BHusseinO is a liberal socialist. Take from the "rich" (some of our military members are lucky enough to own a house in one location to live in and another to rent to possibly retire in - they're now rich - BHusseinO needs to come visit some military posts/bases before making that decision stick) and give to the poor. Not a bad idea right? Well, it is. I'm tired of hearing how someone can't do something... get off one's bum and find a job. Lord knows people who want to go to school/college that can't get a grant because they make "too much" can't get goverment help - there must be lots for those who are less fortunate.

Why people insist on having a hand out and badmouthing those who have something for the work they've done, I've not figured out. This country, I thought, was built on the backs of people who came here for something better and worked for it. Today, some people just won't lift a finger to do something for themselves. "Oh poor is me." What if we all decided to take that path? Where would we be then? No one works? No taxes collected? Makes you think a bit?

I have more thoughts today but have to go run an errand... have a super Saturday afternoon.
